Drive Capital’s Talent Program
People are the core of our investment strategy. The Drive Capital Talent Program works closely with our founders to help them build workplaces that attract, align, and motivate talented people. Critically, we also introduce our companies to talent from our growing network of relationships with builders, executives, board members, and advisors. Additionally, we are adding a new function to the program: direct, internal recruiting and search, that will be solely focused on mid to senior product and engineering roles for our companies.
About the Role
Working closely with Drive Capital’s Head of Talent and Investment Partners across the firm, the Talent Acquisition Manager will help design, build and scale a captive executive recruiting firm within Drive Capital by stewarding a strong candidate sourcing and cultivation strategy. The expectation is that this offering to portfolio companies will deliver to the highest standard while maintaining alignment with the long-term interests of Drive Capital and our companies. We view this new function as a critical part of how we accelerate our portfolio companies’ growth.
The Talent Acquisition Manager will be a part of a small team (2-3 total TA Managers at first), and then will grow based upon the success of early iterations of this offering and the demand generated from our portfolio companies. They will also work closely with the founders and leadership teams of our portfolio companies, providing best practices, tools, and advice to help them execute successful recruiting strategies.
At your core, you care about people. You have an uncanny ability to see people: who they are, where they’re coming from, what drives them, and the greatness waiting to be unleashed. And helping them unleash that greatness is The Stuff – it fuels your engine and gives you energy. You chat up people in just about every context, but with a genuine desire to know them. And you are naturally drawn to network with extraordinary people.
You are also a savvy business operator that understands how tech companies are built through people. You understand how startups grow, the anatomy of the teams involved, what the players on the field do, and how everything changes from one stage of growth to the next. You’ve likely spent 3-5 years recruiting for venture-backed tech companies either in-house, through an agency, or search firm work.
You are a rapid learner, a scrappy grinder, and a thoughtful communicator who is not afraid to fail or make mistakes. Your life’s journey is a story of intention, adaptation, and excellence. You already know a lot of smart engineers, startup leaders, and founders and they know, trust, and like you.
